Hot Dog Ice Cream Cake

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups chocolate ice cream, softened
  • Red and yellow food coloring (gel)
  • 1 frozen pound cake weighing 450 grams.
  • 1 cup diced strawberries
  • 1/4 cup of viscous chocolate and milk toffee sauce
  • 3/4 cup vanilla glaze
  • 30 g chopped white chocolate

Preparation:

  1. In a bowl, combine chocolate ice cream with enough red food coloring to create the color of the sausage. Place the ice cream on a sheet of parchment paper; fold the parchment over the ice cream, then, using a ruler, shape it into a 12-inch log.
  2. Wrap the log in parchment paper and twist the ends of the parchment. Freeze until the ice cream is firm, at least 2 hours.
  3. Cut a thin slice from all 4 sides of the pound cake. Make two long, 1-inch-deep slits in the top of the cake, leaving 1-inch (2.5 cm) from the edges; scoop out the center of the cake to create a "sausage" indentation.
  4. Make chili: Combine strawberries and chocolate sauce in a bowl.
  5. Make "cheese": touch up vanilla glaze Color it orange by mixing red and yellow food coloring; place it in a zip-lock plastic bag and snip off a small corner.
  6. Unwrap the ice cream "sausage" and place it in the center of the cupcake.
  7. Drizzle the strawberry-chocolate mixture over the ice cream.
  8. Pipe orange icing on top. Sprinkle with white chocolate. Freeze until serving.
