How to make ice cream in a bag with ice and salt

Ingredients:

    Basic ice cream

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 10 cups of ice
  • 8 tablespoons of rock salt

    Mint chocolate chip ice cream

  • 1 tbsp dark chocolate chips
  • 1/4 tsp peppermint extract

    Chocolate ice cream

  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder

    Strawberry ice cream

  • 1 tbsp chopped strawberries (about 2 berries)

Preparation:

  1. Basic ice cream: In a medium bowl, combine the milk, sugar, and vanilla. Pour 1/2 cup of the mixture into a small zip-lock bag. Make vanilla ice cream or add ingredients for mint chocolate chip ice cream, chocolate ice cream, or strawberry ice cream, if desired. Seal the bag tightly and place it inside another zip-lock bag, sealing it tightly. Repeat with the remaining milk and desired toppings.
  2. Place ice and salt in a 4-liter plastic container with a lid. Add the filled bags and seal the lid tightly. Shake the container for 5 minutes until the mixture in the bags freezes and resembles ice cream. Remove the ice cream bags from the outer bags and snip off the small corners. Squeeze the ice cream into cups.
