Ingredients:
- 4 slices toasted rye bread
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp. premium flour
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 0.5 tsp coarse salt
- 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
- 0.5 cups of porter (beer)
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 170 g of grated cheddar
- 2 drops of hot sauce
Preparation:
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat and whisk in the flour. Cook, whisking constantly, for 2-3 minutes, being careful not to brown the flour. Stir in the mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
- Add the beer and whisk. Pour in the cream and stir until smooth. Gradually add the cheese, stirring constantly, until melted and the sauce is smooth; this will take 4-5 minutes. Add the hot sauce. Drizzle over the toast and serve immediately.
