A Latin American seasoning - sazon

Preparation:

1.5 teaspoons of this mixture equals 1 packet of store-bought sazon seasoning. Store in a tightly sealed container.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp ground coriander
  • 1 tbsp. l. ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp ground annatto seeds
    (Annatto seeds are extracted from the fruits of the Brazilian annatto tree and are used to color oils, sausages, cheeses, and creams red-orange in the cuisine of the Caribbean, Brazil, Latin America, and Filipino cuisine)
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp coarse salt
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
