Shortbread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 4 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp (30 g) butter
  • 2 tbsp. confectionery fat (margarine)
  • 3/4 cup drinking cream 10%
  • Melted butter, for greasing the cakes
  • Berries
  • Ice cream or whipped cream

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 230°C.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar. Cut the butter and shortening into the flour mixture. Stir in the cream. Spoon the mixture onto a baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool and serve with berries, ice cream, and/or whipped cream.
