Cheeseball "Cheese Cone" topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 and 1/4 cups whole almonds
- 230 gr. curd cheese
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3 slices crispy fried bacon, crumbled
- 1/2 tsp chopped dill
- Salt and pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped green onions
- Sprigs of greenery, for decoration
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 150°C.
- Place the almonds on a baking sheet in a single layer and toast until golden brown, about 20 minutes.
- Mix cream cheese and mayonnaise. Add bacon, salt and pepper, dill, and onion. Refrigerate overnight.
- On a serving platter, form two pine cone-shaped cones out of the cheese. Begin inserting the almonds into the cheese cones at a slight angle, starting from the narrow end of the cones.
- Place the nuts in rows, overlapping each other, until the cheese is completely covered. Garnish with decorative or real pine needles, or rosemary sprigs.
- Serve the cheese cones at room temperature with crackers as an appetizer on your festive New Year's table.
This dish pairs well with white Chardonnay wine.
