Chocolate Mousse Pie topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of chilled unleavened dough (see recipe below)
- 2 cups chocolate chips or finely chopped dark chocolate
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tbsp chocolate cream liqueur
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 950 ml heavy cream
- Chocolate chips, for sprinkling
Preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Pour the unleavened dough into a 23cm diameter baking pan, spreading it evenly over the entire surface, including the sides. Then prick holes with a fork. Place the pan with the cake in the oven and bake for 11 minutes, until golden brown. Remove the cake from the oven and cool completely.
- Pour the chocolate into a saucepan, add the milk, and chocolate crème liqueur. Place the saucepan on the stove and heat on low, stirring, until the chocolate has melted and the mixture is smooth, about 1 minute. Then stir in the vanilla extract. Remove the chocolate sauce from the stove and cool completely.
- Beat powdered sugar and cream in a deep bowl with a mixer at high speed until fluffy and thick.
- Stir the whipped cream into the chocolate sauce, adding the cream in 1-cup increments. Then pour the mixture over the crust and sprinkle with chocolate chips. Cover the cake with plastic wrap and freeze for several hours.
