topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp. l. (30 gr.) olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • Half a medium onion, diced
  • 450 g of pasta, such as rigatoni, penne, fusilli, etc.
  • 900 g canned chopped tomatoes
  • Optional ingredients: canned tuna, canned salmon, frozen vegetables, or canned beans
  • 6 slices provolone or mozzarella

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C. Bring water to a boil in a saucepan and add generous amounts of salt.
  2. Heat a medium saucepan over medium heat and add oil. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and onion and cook, stirring, for 3 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, add the pasta to the boiling water and cook for 3-4 minutes less than the package directions.
  4. Add the tomatoes to the pan with the onions and bring to a boil. Continue simmering. Any additional ingredients can be added at this point.
  5. Drain the pasta and toss it with the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Transfer to a baking dish and top with provolone or mozzarella. Bake until the cheese is melted, 3–5 minutes.
