Lavash with fruit filling topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 4 8-inch (20 cm) wheat tortillas, cut in half
- 1 large beaten egg
- 0.5 cup chocolate-hazelnut spread
- Eight 0.5 cm thick slices of fresh fruit (banana, strawberry, plum will do) or 8 marshmallows
- 3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter
- Powdered sugar for sprinkling
Preparation:
- Place 1 tortilla half on a clean work surface, rounded side facing you. Brush the edges of the tortilla with egg wash. Spoon 1 tablespoon of chocolate-hazelnut spread into the center of the tortilla and top with a piece of fruit or marshmallow. Fold one side of the tortilla over the filling, bringing the corner to the 6 o'clock position, and press to seal.
- Fold the other side over the filling so that the two edges overlap slightly and the corner is also at the 6 o'clock position. Seal the filling inside. The quesadilla will look like a triangular patty. Repeat with the remaining tortilla halves and filling.
- In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, melt half the butter and fry half the quesadillas until deep golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels. Wipe out the pan and fry the remaining quesadillas in the same manner. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
