topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup oatmeal, rinsed
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

Preparation:

  1. Combine the rolled oats in a medium bowl with enough water to cover. Refrigerate until softened, at least 6 hours or overnight.
  2. Drain the oats and rinse thoroughly to remove any remaining residue. Combine them in a blender with 3 cups of clean water. Blend on high speed until the oats are completely ground, 2-3 minutes. Strain the oat milk through a sieve or cheesecloth into a container. Reserve the oat pulp for smoothies or baking.
  3. Microwave 1 cup of oat milk for about 2 minutes. Add honey and cocoa powder to the hot milk and stir until all lumps are gone.
  4. Add vanilla extract, remaining cold oat milk and 1/4 teaspoon salt; stir to combine. Store chocolate oat milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days..
