Chocolate chip cookies in a skillet topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 165 g unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 cups premium flour
- 0.5 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
- 3/4 tsp baking soda
- 350 gr. semi-sweet chocolate granules (2 tbsp.)
Preparation:
- Position the oven rack in the middle position and preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt the butter in a 10-inch cast iron skillet over medium heat, then set aside to cool slightly for 5 minutes.
- In a large bowl, combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add melted butter. Do not wash the pan. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Using a wooden spoon, stir the flour mixture into the butter mixture until smooth (do not beat). Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Using a rubber spatula, transfer the batter to the prepared pan, gently pressing it to the edges and smoothing the surface. Bake until the cookies are cracked, the edges are browned, and the centers are still soft, about 40-45 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 15 minutes. Slice the cookies and serve warm.
