Ingredients:
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 350 g chopped assorted mushrooms, such as shiitake, cremini, and/or button mushrooms
- 3 tbsp. premium flour
- 2 tbsp Marsala
- 2.5 cups lightly salted vegetable broth
- 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves
Preparation:
- In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, until dry and tender, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Sprinkle the mushrooms with flour and cook, stirring, until golden brown, about 1 minute. Add the Marsala and broth and continue to simmer until the liquid thickens and comes to a boil, about 5 minutes. Add the thyme and season with salt and pepper to taste.
