topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 6 large corn muffins, diced
  • 1 egg
  • A handful of fresh sage leaves, chopped
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

Preparation:

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes, or until softened and caramelized. Add the sage and transfer to a large bowl.
  3. Add the cornbread pieces, season generously with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, cream, and broth and pour the mixture over the cornbread. Stir and fill the turkey cavity with the stuffing. Alternatively, place the stuffing in a greased baking dish and bake with the turkey.
  4. Bake until golden brown on top, about 30 minutes.
