Cornbread and Caramelized Onion Turkey Stuffing topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 onions, chopped
- 6 large corn muffins, diced
- 1 egg
- A handful of fresh sage leaves, chopped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 190°C.
- In a medium skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the onion and cook, stirring, for 10 minutes, or until softened and caramelized. Add the sage and transfer to a large bowl.
- Add the cornbread pieces, season generously with salt and pepper, and mix thoroughly. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg, cream, and broth and pour the mixture over the cornbread. Stir and fill the turkey cavity with the stuffing. Alternatively, place the stuffing in a greased baking dish and bake with the turkey.
- Bake until golden brown on top, about 30 minutes.
