Quick and easy spaghetti in marinara sauce

topcook.tomathouse.com

Ingredients:

  • 450 g spaghetti
  • 1 can (900 g) of canned whole peeled tomatoes
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • Grated Parmesan, for serving

Preparation:

  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add salt. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions, then drain.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, combine the tomatoes (with their juice) with the garlic cloves, 1 teaspoon of salt and freshly ground black pepper (grinder several times) in a blender and blend until smooth.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet over medium-high heat. Carefully pour the tomato puree into the hot oil to avoid splattering and cook, stirring occasionally, until the sauce thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the cooked pasta to the sauce and stir until completely and evenly coated. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve the spaghetti with grated Parmesan cheese.
