Ingredients:
- 1 sourdough loaf, 20 cm in diameter.
- 2 tbsp. grated mozzarella (about 220 gr.)
- 1 cup crumbled feta (about 110 g)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, diced
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
Combine the mozzarella, feta, and butter in a large bowl. Trim the top 2 inches off the bread and scoop out the crumb, leaving a hollow shell for dipping. Fill the bread bowl with the cheese mixture. Place in a baking dish, cover loosely with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and crack an egg into the cheese mixture. Bake, uncovered, until the egg whites are almost completely set, 12-15 minutes. Then, turn the oven to broil and broil until completely set, another 1-2 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and sprinkle with red pepper flakes. Just before serving, beat the egg yolk with a fork and stir it into the melted cheese.
- Serve with bread crumbs or raw vegetables for dipping.
