Honey wings in the oven topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
Wings
- 1 kg chicken wings, cut at the joints, discard the tips
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil + extra for greasing
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
Sauce
- 5 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/3 cup honey + extra for drizzling
- 1/4 cup Sriracha sauce (Asian chili sauce)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tsp freshly squeezed lime juice
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 200°C. Lightly grease a large rimmed baking sheet with vegetable oil.
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels and place them in a large bowl. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil, melted butter, granulated garlic, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper. Pour the mixture over the wings and toss well to coat them evenly. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake the wings until golden brown, 45-55 minutes. Meanwhile, prepare the sauce. Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the honey, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce, and lime juice and stir until the mixture begins to simmer gently. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Carefully transfer the wings from the baking sheet to a large bowl. Pour the hot sauce over the wings and gently toss to coat evenly. Transfer the wings to a serving platter and drizzle with honey; serve with lime wedges.
