Honey-glazed chicken wings with hoisin sauce topcook.tomathouse.com
Ingredients:
- 12 chicken wings, cut at the joints, discarding the tips
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp dark sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon coarse salt
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 tbsp. rice vinegar
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 0.5 cups honey
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 green onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tsp black and white sesame seeds, for serving
Preparation:
- Position an oven rack in the lower third of the oven and preheat to broil. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with the vegetable and sesame oils and season with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken on the rack over a rimmed baking sheet. Bake the wings, turning every 10 minutes, until golden brown and crispy and cooked through, about 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine the vinegar and crushed red pepper in a small saucepan and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the honey, hoisin sauce, and soy sauce. Transfer to a large bowl. Add the fried wings to the bowl and toss with the honey glaze. Transfer to a platter and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
