Ingredients:
Ham
- 1 whole fresh ham (not cured), 4.5 - 6.5 kg.
- Soy sauce
Homemade seasoning
- 1 tbsp. salt
- 1/4 cup black pepper
- 1/4 cup garlic powder
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 160°C.
- Rub the ham with soy sauce, then thoroughly rub with homemade seasoning, covering the entire surface. Sprinkle the ham with additional seasoning to completely coat it (don't worry about over-salting).
Homemade seasoning:
Combine all ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months. You'll get 1.5 cups of seasoning.
- Place in the oven, uncovered, and bake for 18-20 minutes per pound of ham, until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) on a meat thermometer. When the ham is done, let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
